About the role
Zeal is seeking a dependable Freight Dispatcher to coordinate daily transportation activities. This role manages load assignments, communicates with drivers and carriers, and helps keep pickups and deliveries on schedule.
Work arrangement: Remote or hybrid Location: Any city for remote work; office location to be confirmed for hybrid Employment type: Full-time and contract opportunities available Schedule: Assigned shifts; hours and coverage requirements to be confirmed
What you will do
- Assign and schedule loads based on equipment availability and shipment needs.
- Confirm pickup and delivery appointments.
- Communicate load instructions to drivers and carriers.
- Respond to delays, equipment issues, and schedule changes.
- Maintain accurate dispatch notes and shipment records.
- Coordinate with track and trace to ensure timely updates and clear shift handoffs.
Requirements
- Dispatch or transportation coordination experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize and remain calm during busy periods.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems preferred.
- Availability to work the assigned schedule.
- English proficiency required; French and/or Spanish is a strong advantage.
